The Internet is a research anylists dream come true; the list of my favorite websites, and perhaps future hyperlinks, below, I feel personnally indebted to. They have brought the world of Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism) into my home and filled my Mandir with wisdom. Some are commercial sites and others purely nonprofit educational sites , some a combination of both. Still others are purely social. For the time being, this list will not be catagorized. There are many search-engines in India in English,when I have sorted thru my desktop this generic list will be superceeded. It is both educational with it's newsletters and swift in its deliveries,and safe. There is something there for everyone, from books ,jewelery,silks, and carpets, to the best of India's Bronze Religous sculpture. There is something there that everyone can afford , and the prices include shipping.

In 1903 The Publishing House of Motilal Banarsidass was established ,in New Dheli ,India. The mission was to publish especially in the English Language , the Greatest Religous works , and commentators works ; of Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism). I have always felt, why buy a book from a retailer , who has marked up the price ; when you can go directly to the source, the publisher, and pay less. The sixty seven volume (ongoing work of translating the PURANAS AND THE SKANDA STORIES from the sandskrit to english) is much less expensive a purchase as a complete set ,than buying individual Puranas, from other retailers. BUT the current card catalog at this website ,will keep a Tantrika Mystic, in awe!
Devdutt Pattanaik, is an author of the first order ,in a new generation of India's Intellectuals. I had the priviledge of obtaining a complimentary copy of his first book "Shiva An Introduction" and his dedication ,on the first page of this slender but rich volume," To the gods and to the demons who dance in my dreams" brought clarity , and insight, with every page that I read , as to how a polytheistic system works, both as a religous and social system. Check out also The Title "Man Who Was A Woman". The book jacket description, emphasizes, how over five hundred years of first Muslim and then Christian Colonial exploitation has given rise to many pretentous distortions about Sanatana Dharma, both in the West and in India itself!
